In many cases, the contractor didn’t change the original price. The project itself changed. And understanding that difference can make the remodeling process much easier for both the homeowner and contractor. What Are Construction Change Orders? A construction change order documents a change to the original scope of work. That can include adding work, removing work, changing materials, modifying a layout, or performing something that wasn’t included in the original contract.
